Visitors can't get enough of the Coney dogs topped with tangy sauce, mustard, and onions, which remain a highlight on the menu. The homemade malts in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors are a hit, providing a creamy and nostalgic treat. Many patrons appreciate the efficiently managed service, with food often arriving in under 90 seconds, especially during busy times. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere paired with affordable pricing makes it an attractive spot for all ages. The cozy booths and counters invite diners to sit back, relax, and soak up the historic charm. Whether indulging in fries perfectly cooked in lard or enjoying a slice of pie a la mode, customers leave satisfied after each visit.
Most Disliked
While many appreciate the charm, a few diners note the simplicity of the menu as a downside if they seek more gourmet options. Some visitors might find the lunch period crowded, especially on weekends, although this speaks to its popularity. The diner setting may not appeal to those looking for a more modern dining experience or upscale ambiance. Additionally, customers seeking diverse dining options during dinner may find fewer choices as the dinner crowd tends to be lighter. Lastly, the lack of alcoholic beverages on the menu could disappoint those wanting to enjoy a drink with their meal.

Old school 1940s cafe. Great classic food items. Easy straight to the point menu. Great coney Island dogs, burgers, fries, shakes and malts. A must stop for the nostalgia alone. Would definitely return l because I need to try the chili and pie a la mode. Good pricing. Amazing staff. One of the best waitress I had the pleasure of being served by. Kept up with the lunch rush above and beyond. I highly recommend the stop to anyone that is stopping on Grand Island.

First time here, it’s an experience for sure. Nothing fancy, it’s like a way back time machine when you walk in. Sit where you can, in a booth or counter. The service is outstanding, it’s ran efficiently, food came out in under 90 seconds. The coney was great, coney sauce, mustard, onions. It was what I dreamed of. Bowl of chili, was standard definition of chili, straight forward meat, beans, sauce. The fries were cooked perfectly, is that in lard? They we so good, I wanted more!!! Lots more!!! Good and tasty and inexpensive. We even got a to go pack so we could enjoy a coney at home.

We had the best service. We loved the coney dogs, fries, and chilli. They have been there for 91 years. The food was great! The owner is friendly and welcoming. We drove from Lincoln, it’s so worth it!
